Whether natural in shades of green, Mediterranean with herbs, or colorful with blossoms – your creativity knows no bounds. To ensure your plants thrive and your umbrella stands securely, we recommend this proven setup:
- Line the umbrella stand with garden fleece
- Bottom layer: about ¼ as drainage with gravel or expanded clay
- Middle layer: about ½ high-quality potting soil
- Top layer: your desired planting
Important: Make sure to water regularly without waterlogging – the drainage holes and drainage layer ensure a balanced climate inside.
Which plants are suitable?
Choose plants that suit your location (sun/partial shade) and can cope with limited root space. Combinations of upright growing and hanging varieties look especially beautiful:
- Herbs: Lavender, Rosemary, Thyme
- Grasses: Feather grass, Fountain grass
- Flowering plants: Nemesia, Cape daisy, Petunia

The stand for umbrellas is made of powder-coated stainless steel and can be easily moved thanks to the integrated wheels and planted (for even more weight & design effect) – perfect for anyone who wants to stay flexible.
With its own weight of 10 kg, it already provides solid basic stability – but for a secure stand, you must additionally weigh it down (more in the FAQs).

Please note: The integrated wheels are not lockable. For maximum safety, we recommend securing the umbrella stand at windy locations with a wedge or wheel stopper.
